Deka Efobi M.D

Dr. Deka Achufusi Efobi was born as the youngest of five siblings. As a child, she traveled extensively with her parents and lived in various states within the United States and Canada. She finally settled with her parents in Potomac, MD where she graduated from Winston Churchill HS. She was a biochemistry pre-Med major at the University of Maryland where she was the vice-president of social affairs. Her adventurous nature led her to Europe . She traveled extensively throughout Europe and obtained her medical degree at the Wroclaw Medical Academy in Poland. While a student, she was the Vice President of the international students association and was on the Deans list for multiple years. She returned to the united states and completed her Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Part of her Residency training took place at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington DC; The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC; The National Institute of Health , NINDS in Bethesda MD , and other great institutions.. Dr. Efobi was chief resident . Her leadership attributes led her to Ohio where she ran a successful Neurology practice before relocating to Tennessee . She opened up the Neurology Clinic in Nashville TN, in 2006,  and later relocated the practice to Lebanon, TN . In 2016, the Murfreesboro location was born due to  a need to serve the multiple patients locally. Dr Efobi served as the  Medical director of the Stroke Program which she helped establish at the University Medical Center,  (now Tennova Hospital in Lebanon, TN), as well as the Medical Director of the Sumner Regional Medical Center rehabilitation Unit, in Gallatin, TN . She concurrently served as the  McFarland Rehabilitation Hospital Medical Director in Lebanon, TN. Dr. Efobi was a board member and helped establish the stroke program at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville and subsequently served as the medical director of the stroke program. Currently  Dr Efobi serves as the Medical Director at Trust Point Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

Dr. Deka Efobi is a board certified Neurologist, a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology ; a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Headache Society. She is married and they are blessed with four children. They are active in their community and local church.
